New Wilmington!
My sister Dianna, who lives in Maryland, has spent this past week with us helping us get the restaurant ready to open. We have been washing dishes, wiping walls, scrubbing chairs and floors and so much more! Yesterday we took a break and went on a ride around New Wilmington. We were mesmorized by it's beauty. More than anything else, I saw God's power and glory in this snow covered town. The word I kept saying was MAJESTIC! I said to my sister, "You see how breathtakingly beautiful this is. Now, Imagine what heaven must look like? Beauty that our minds can't even imagine!" New Wilmington, you are beautiful!

I will have to stop by when I visit home - New Castle - this summer. Also looking forward to visiting Volant.
Good Luck with The Tavern!

I grew in New Wilmington during the 50's and 60's, WAHS Class of '66, and a meal at the Tavern was always a special treat. I appreciate your efforts to keep it as an active and vibrant part of New Wilmington. When I come back to visit I will bring my family to your wonderful establishment.
PS - Thanks for the pictures of home on your blog, keep them coming! What about some of the inside of the Tavern as well as share with us and others some of its deep and long history.
Take care

It’s great to have the Tavern open again! Been there twice since it re-opened.…once in December for our office Christmas Party and today for lunch after Church….both experiences were excellent. The food, as well as the sticky buns, was delicious…. we had stuffed chicken breast and stuffed pork chop. The only dessert we have had is Coconut Cream Pie and it is to die for! Keep up the good work, we will definitely be back!

I was so happy to see that The Tavern was re-opened on a visit to New Wilmington a couple of years ago. The food was delicious and the sticky buns were as good as ever! The atmosphere was just as wonderful as it was on my first visit almost 25 years ago. Keep up the great work and I wish you much continued success!
